To be honest i wish i could do it, but i live in malta europe. My main problem is that even if i send my ecu to vantuner to delete the egr, when my mechanic here in malta updates the ecu the egr delete will be gone so i would need to do it all over again, if martynx would make it so that the egr delete isn't removed when an ecu update is made i would seriously be interested.

I think most items in that dirty tract reach a point until nothing more can stick due to the velocity increasing with the smaller bore size, so it gets dirty double quick them stabilises.

Very crap idea and design IMO

Martyn can do the egr delete and remap for you, after that you won't need any pcm updates again. You can still do pump pilot learn and injectors learn etc, tbh if you left the remap on you'll probably have scrapped the van in years to come before needing more pcm updates lol.
Unless i have missed any other reason for pcm updates?
My van lasted from 07 to 12 before it had any.

So to do pump pilot learn and injectors learn you mean it wont remove egr delete? That is good news. May i ask something, for how long do updates continue to come out? Is it a case of ford just stops them after a number of years or do they continue for a certain number of years after the model has ceased production?

As far as i know they are just small tweaks to the software that Ford put there to help with problems that have Been noticed over time and use, i think the mk7 is old enough now to have a decent software running imo.
There has probably been quite a few updates since the mk7 was brought out in 06/7 i would guess at 3/4 per year? I don't know how long they will make software updates, i was always of the impression that a manufacturer had to supply spare parts for upto 15 years after that model is finished, but i don't know if that is true anymore or if it includes software releases tbh.
I wouldn't really worry about it anyway, you should ask martyn what the score is, plus he can probably save you're old/new map anyway.

Updates for the Mk 7 will stop 3 years after the last day of production, after the last warranty has run out!

It's only the Euro 5 that re getting new updates now, the euro 4 ones stopped a while ago
