well got working on van today - was hard work getting the top 2 bolts out but have all 9 out now :D hope that them all
gearbox didn't drop out but has started to split from engine -hope to get at it after work tomorrow.
ran out of day light

question
have pulled gear selection cables off moving arm but not sure how to take them off the bracket? held on with plastic bushing and don't want to brake anything any tips here or can i leave them on?

This may be too late....

Make a pair of alignment dowels by cutting the heads off M10 x 60 bolts and put them in place of two of the lower bellhousing bolts. This stops the gearbox hanging on the input shaft and possibly damaging the nose bearing or oil seal. Cutting screwdriver slots in them before fitting will make them easier to get out.

Well just come across this thread as i'm about to do my slave cylinder but also doing my clutch as well as vans done 110k parcel work and it judders in reverse

Blue estate where are you in this country , I've a ex ford mechanic who can do these on less than 2 hours :D

The box will fit but clutch / flywheel is different , , if your just going to change the box there won't be any difference

see how far the top part turns buy hand and if you can move it up and down
how many miles you done ?
both my 2.4 jumbo and 1.8tdci focus DMF's were fooked at 110k the focus if idling use to knock now and then and stall
