Mk6 , Hesitates when puling away.

Postby mike.48 » Wed Mar 07, 2007 11:34 am

Hi everyone can anyone help? I have a MK6 2002 280 mwb 2.0 125ps. Now that i have placed my order for my new transit it has decided to play up.when pulling away, it hesitates then suddenly pulls away emitting clouds of black smoke which soon disappears and it does this throughout the day. I have been told it's the EGR valve. Can it be cleaned or does it have to be replaced as Fords are quoting £350? I need to get this sorted so the van is in good working oreder when i sell it in May. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Mike

can you not trade your van in then you will not have to worry about fixing it.

The dealer has offered me £3700 but i know i can get more for it privately as it is in excellent condition and has never been mistreated and is the executive model as they called it in 2002 which is the LX version now. We all know what dealers are like, ay.

Thanks Mike

Pay the money and kit it fixed, you wont regret it, I have been looking for 6 months for the right van and I can tell you the dealer will add 4k on that price and stick it on the forecourt.
