do you require traction control for cruise control to work? can traction control just be activated ? i have auto lights ,heated windows, electric window/mirrors and steering wheel controls for radio!

Traction control button was fitted lights up but doesn't do anything ! 2006 mk7 2.2

thanks

Pretty sure you can have cruise without traction control.
The button isn't for traction control but for esp, which is an upgraded version of traction for want of a better description, your van probably does have traction control, but an early basic version

I have got my new used steering wheel and the necessary BCM . My question is about the wiring . As I only need two wires and therefore four connectors can I buy these connectors you are talking about from a Ford dealer ? I seem to have trouble finding Transit parts at breakers in my area ( Edinburgh ) .
Thanks

No you've got high spec loom , another way to tell is take ignition cowl off look at plug below steering wheel , should be 5 wires on the plug , 2 are orange for the cruise

Yes you've got the wires so get the software done and you'll have cruise. :-)

That's great :) will go for a steering wheel now. I bought a c max one without cruise because I didn't know lol. Will any c max or focus one with cruise fit ? Also what is it to remove it again a torx or a 19mm I can't remember also would it be plug and play with a newer clocks with snow flake and a temp sensor. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks

Thought I'd explained it all at the beginning Lol.

Can't remember what the bolt is to remove the wheel but thinking 19 or 21 socket

For cruise.
You need c bcm
Wiring
Cruise wheel (cmax)
Software mod

For high spec clocks.

High spec speedo with correct coloured rev band as your original is easier But red ones work-both plug and play provided you have the 3 wires from left trip stalk to speedo.
C max pre 07 indicator/trip stalk.
Mileage correction.

To add temp you need c bcm.
Temp sensor with wiring.
Software mod.

Skim through this.

Careful which wheel you buy, the focus one can be used, but you may need the airbag too and need the steering angle sensor reset.

Focus ones have the squib holes inline in relation to the wheel position, where as the transit ones are slightly rotated in relation to the wheel position

First is a focus, second is a transit

Also as Punto rightly pointed out, you may need to recalibrate the steering angle sensor but that's not a problem just remember to mention it when you get the software done, ( you'll know if it needs doing as the esp light will come on when driving) :-)
