mk6 rwd brake disks question

Postby napstertransit10440 » Wed Apr 16, 2014 11:59 pm

Hi Guys,
Been a lurker on the forums for a while.

Just been attempting to do the front disks on my mk6 rwd chassis cab.

It was a twat of a job and the van is still in the yard on stands, the brake disk had dintegrated and some of the 5 13 mm nuts snapped on the way out so had to hammer of the hub and get them out in the vice which took ages.

I was following this guide by guy 88: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=32015

I have got a little confused as mine seems to be somewhat different the t50 torx are not actually screwed into the disk and it is just held on with 5 13mm bolts is that how its supposed to be.

The half shaft dropped out easy enough along with bearing on the back out and i was wondering does it just push back in will it all tighten up nice and tight?

Look forward to your thoughts could illustrate my post with pictures tomorrow if reqd.

That tutorial is accurate, the 13mm hold the disk to the hub, the t50 are holding the bearing to the bottom of the strut, look through the extra holes and turn the disk to Line it up.
