Clone VCM 2 can they actually be used for j2534 programming?

cheers loot got it i think i have a problem with the calibrations file disc was watching the install gets about 3/4 of the way through throws up an error for flash then shuts the installer.
does anyone have a clean copy of the v81 calibration files?

You don't need calibrations installed to enable VCM II to connect to vehicle to retrieve vehicle data from PCM (ECU)

god knows why it won't work then but doesn't light the vehicle light on the vcm keeps asking for this pcm part number and calibration number?? little bit lost will have another go a bit later

It will ask for part numbers if it can't identify the vehicle automatically.

Is the red vcm icon showing connected on the bottom right of ids?
Have you licenced it correctly?

Does the vcmii power up if you connect it to the van but not the pc ? Check fuse 72 if it does not.

You can setup calibrations without the DVD or sent some one a sd card of 8 GB or bigger.

Using WI-FI or USB ?

if using USB unplug it from VCM II. Then plug VCM II into DLC (OBDII port), Power light should light up - if as v8dave suggested check fuse.

What vehicle are you trying to connect to ?

all sorted now was going through the wrong part of the menu so it wasn't connecting apparently have no codes on my 2002 125 tddi which is nice
Just need to get the calibration files sorted and the patch and i can get to know the program a little better

Hi Guys, didn't want to start another vcm topic but where can I download the programming modules for the IDS?

I bought a 2005 T350 135 Jumbo on ebay and was told it was hard to start and it turns out won't start at all.
I've found the codes for injector changes on a post-it note so I want to check it's all ok and I bought a clone VCM and have it connecting to the van.
only DTC codes I get are body errors and no engine codes.
Any help is really appreciated.

So has anyone got new calibration files than version 81

Guys just got my clone VCM2 v86.

So far i have installed the ids software and patch (gave me two options for the patch one for cheap clone or one for original high quality clone i only selected the later), then installed the calibrations off v81 cd.

I then went to run IDS and i got a waiting for windows network services window pop up which then aborted any ideas??

Did you buy a vcmii that connects by usb cable or a wifi one.

Was the vcmii connected to the pc if usb or to the vehicle if wifi ?

If wifi did you get a wifi dongle for the pc with it ?
Correct dongle for wifi version seems to be d-link dw-131 and there are specific instructions for setting up the wifi.
