lami,
see what's on the disks that turn up with yr VCM and if your needing anything then post up, sure we can sort out most stuff?

mine came from obd2tool and one thing i noticed compared to others info is i never had to pay the couriers? but maybe that's a small consolation if it fails soon :?

Cheers Airthies, I will patiently wait and see what's on the discs, looks like it's gonna
be a long Easter haha.

Loot, I had that many windows open looking at the vcm's it ended up being a close the eyes and point deal
I've had WDS for many a year for the focus, so have a good understanding of fords systems, obvious that's no good for the
van tho.

Thanks :)

I think i went for them initially as they took PayPal and were .co.uk which doesn't mean much but like you say, you've got all these sites selling them and you really can't decide.
I hope you get a good one and it lasts :-)

Hey Guys,
looks like there is some good talk about Clone VCM2 and IDS going on in this thread so I thought I would add some links to keep it all in the one place.

I have purchase a VCM2 from this Alliexpress seller recently as they have sold many units and have good customer feedback from buyers.
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2014-Hig ... 59590.html
The unit came with 2 CD's of IDS V86 and V91, unfortunately the V91 CD was completely snapped in half so I installed V86 and have got it working with my dual cab.
everything installed well and the VCM work like a charm

I messaged the seller regarding the snapped CD, and they have provided me this link where I can download V91 and other diagnostics software.
http://www.360diag.net/plus/list.php?tid=18
I am currently downloading V91 however the server download speed is mega slow so I can not comment if the download software is functional.

So far I have preformed the following tasks with my VCM2 and IDS V86,
I have have just replace my MK7 140PS 2006 dual cab engine with a complete engine with one from another donor transit. (The previous engine had the timing chain jumped on the intake camshaft sprocket)

Updated fuel injector correction 16 digit codes :D OK
Fuel injector pump learn :D OK
Fuel injector pilot correction learn :( FAIL
I am receiving an error on the stabilizing idol process 10sec
Vehicle conditions not met.
Note the following pilot correction learn failure code: 42.
Release the clutch pedal
check for clutch faults

Error code: 42.. Exited started due to fuel temperature
I have got the fuel temp higher than before however still getting the same error.

I'm still working through this error and learning how to use the IDS software, any advice welcomed.

Nice link I have found for the pilot correction process with error codes.

Update on the pilot correction learn fault.
The problem ended up being the metal tab which is welded to the clutch pedal arm which engages the clutch switch was bent and not registering on the switch.
I bent back the tab with my hand so it sets the switch off when the clutch pedal is released and the pilot correction learn executed perfectly.

Also the downloaded copy of IDS V91 for the link above, it works however you have to apply some crack which freezes the date. without this crack the software is good for 3 days.
V86 I think works better than v91 I feel.

Anyway all procedures complete now, So it's nice to be able to perform things yourself without depending on dealers or getting ripped of at the same time.

I posted on this thread viewtopic.php?f=2&t=157617 earlier what kind of issues I had with my Clone VCM 2 shutting off by itself and I have seen that several have had the same issue. But yes, there is an FIX for that now. There is an broken or wrong size capacitor in the device and by changing that it seems that the fault disappears. I will post on that another thread later on instructions on changing it.

hi guys. i have got my vcm 2 through the post done all the installing of v86 plus the patch all seems to be working well but when i get all connected up the vcm wont find my van. the battery is a little weak. could this be the issue? i have tried connecting while the van is running but still nothing. i know that these electronics from china can be a little temperamental, is this an issue any others have had and does it need to be sent back,

Check your fuses, and make sure all eletrical items like radio, interior lights and heater are turned off.

mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

Should it connect if the engine is running?

Just confirm what year van you have.

Ids will connect as long as there is power to the pcm and the can bus cables are connected.

Ignition on/running makes no difference.
