Hi all.

I've checked with DHL and my VCM 2 should arrive today :) So I have a quick question before I buy the new parts.

I was intending on replacing the fuel metering valve on the fuel pump (SCV?) and the (probably knackered) Fuel Pressure Relief Valve (PRV??). I just want to make double sure that the PRV in the one at the back end on the fuel rail (RWD) rather than the larger one (fuel pressure sensor???) at the front end of the fuel rail??

Many thanks

Rich

I've ordered the valves so they should be here early next week so all I have to do now is figure out why Module programming isn't available I'm guessing I screwed up the installation somehow???

You need to apply the extended programming patch.
Proper size is about 200K, if it is 250K then it has a virus.

It will unlock the module programming functions for 120 days, then you just apply it again. :)

Is it normal for the vcm to turn itself off after a while?

Can any of the guys who already have a VCM2 tell me if it's normal for the VCM 2 to turn itself off after a short while of inactivity? Mine has done it twice, once while connected to the vehicle via the diagnostic cable and laptop via usb (I haven't got the wifi dongle yet) and again when just connected to the laptop via usb. In both cases I hadn't done anything with IDS to cause it to talk to the vcm so I'm hoping it's normal for them to turn off after a certain amount of time of inactivity??????

Have not left mine connected and inactive for any length of time so can say for sure, but have driven for ten minutes or longer while watching live data and had no problem.

Thanks for the info. I'll try and do some tests on it tomorrow to make sure it's not faulty as I'd hate for it to turn off half way through a reprogramming session.

Cheers

Check your pc settings in case that is turning off usb power after some time inactive.
