Thanks for the reply I have been trying to remove a speed limiter from a 2011 transit 140 bhp I'm using a vcm2 clone the vcm said there was a newer calibration files and that it would remove any speed setting when the new files were installed it stopped wiring after it removed the old files now it won't start as there are no files in the pcm It now carnt find the pcm what do you recommend cheers deanloot wrote:X prog gives you the programming function so the fact that you went into it means it is working surely?

Hi I tried updating calibration files in pcm it removed old files and ids said lost communication with vcm even though all the lights were still on the vcm now it cannot find the pcm now .when I try starting the van it won't turn over it did connect and found the pcm the first time these are the errors I was getting there was nothing wrong with the van till I plugged the van into itloot wrote:Go into module programming and restore from backup.
I'm not sure what you've done but ids shouldn't initiate module programming unless it can find the module data either in the calibrations folder (if you installed it?) Or online (if you are connected via Wi-Fi or tether)?
I don't really know what you've tried to do tbh.
I'm not sure if it was connected to internet at the timeloot wrote:I think his vcm is faulty.
Change the usb cable first for a quality one as they are known to be faulty.
The bcm holds vehicle asbuilt and tells the pcm/van what to do but the pcm holds the engine calibration, you can run a van with incorrect bcm configuration.
The vcm does a kind of practice run before a permanent run but if the vcm or pcm lose connection midway through programming then you are bust.
Vcm shouldn't have done it.
The speedo cluster has backup data stored on it so you can go into programming and config and below asbuilt is restore from backup.
Try that and hopefully the clocks will restore the pcm.
Worst case is a known vcm needs to be used.
Also you'll need pcm calibration.
Was your computer online with the internet when you tried a pcm update?
Does it need to be on lineBowtay wrote:I'm not sure if it was connected to internet at the timeloot wrote:I think his vcm is faulty.
