reverse lamps not working

Postby cuemanlew » Fri Jul 04, 2014 9:25 pm

I have only had this mk7 a few weeks, it has after market reverse sensors which worked fine to begin with but have just stopped working! The reverse lights dont work now either. Checked the fuse and thats fine. Would it be the sender unit or more likely something else?

Is it expensive? the van is only 4 year old surely it should last longer than that..

Don't think it's too expensive but you can unscrew it and put a tester on the 2 pins at the connector, or more easily, try it for continuity in neutral then reverse, it's a starting point. Could be bad earth, tow socket etc but there you go.
