mk7 tipper , intermittent problem

hi
ive been having a problem with the van not starting occasionaly . all the dash light come on and sometimes the starter will click sometimes nothing.but if we put a set of leads on it will start ok. after a check we get a low voltage reading as a previous fault not currently present . we havnt hade a reader on it while the problem is actually happening as its only an occasional thing
any info greatly appreciated

I'd say your front battery is on its last legs but may be wrong, get it checked though as its usually the problem.

as daft as it may seem ,I hadn't given it a thought as starting is usually fine every morning . ill put a drop tester on it and see what it comes out at .cheers

Low battery can cause loads of silly problems.

The ignition switch is a fairly common prob too :D

Good point, theres been a few lately, must be the age now.
