2004 Gearbox

Postby Greensleeves » Sun Jul 27, 2014 7:28 am

Have had gearbox oil replaced in 2004 manual gearbox and after 3 different lots of oil9Because they put the wrong grade in ,now have 75/85 full synthetic) the gears will not stay selected whilst sitting with foot on clutch and also fall out of gear when coming off the acellarator. My mechanic said he put in 3.5 litres of oil when it says in the manual it holds 1.3 litres I have drained about 800 ml as this is all I can get out of it from the Fill plug just above the drain plug .any suggestions please

Sounds like you need a better mechanic, and it also sounds like the cables need adjusting
