Module programming :)

You'll need a working "extended programming" patch to turn on the ids functions if it's not a genuine copy.

If there is a newer calibration than the v81 set for a pcm that old I'd be surprised. IDS should prompt with a file name of a new calibration if it knows of one.

You can get them from the motorcraft site motorcraft once you know what file name to ask for.
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

IDS will tell you the name of the file required.

If there is not an update then you will not get the name.

In that case I suspect you'll need to start ids and rather than let it get the id from the van you tell it the details manually.

It probably works like this :-
1) upload the existing module programming from the van as if you are going to change the modules.
2) change the ids settings to the power you want.
3) download the new settings to the van.

You might need a new or edited "as built" file for the van.

I'm sure an expert will come along and read this soon

Edit: has this been done to a Mondeo ever ? worth a google.

Once IDS has retrieved data from vehicle, it will only install the current PCM calibration if replacing PCM - downloads calibration from old module then installs it onto new one.
Or update calibration if one is available. - For example if your transit is a 75ps then it will only load the 75ps as confirmed via Vin number (which IDS will ask you to confirm)

Tip

You can fool IDS into thinking PCM is blank to install a different calibration.
Once you have done this IDS will ask for PCM part no or tear tag.
It will then check for calibration & If not found on your IDS system. IDS will ask to check & download it from Motorcraft - internet connection will be required :!:
If calibration is not available then "as built data" is requested to proceed

Requested info.
