mk6 2.0 75ps white smoke broken down at road side

hi all well where to start we took a trip in my dads van it was a 210 mile round trip and all was well untill we decided to head home we broke down at night coming back from porthmadog link road to bala pitch black no streetlights no houses just mountains and sheep for miles and to top it off no phone signal well back to the problem with the van we was driving along and then all of a sudden we could smell unburnt diesel really bad the van had become foggy lol then it cut out put the torch to the back of the van and white smoke was everywhere popped the bonnet and it had diesel around 1 and 3 injectors but the van would not start back up at all when we finally got home left the van sit for a while i pressed the primer on top of the filter and it spluttered to start but it dyed back again so im at a loss eny help much appreciated

just looked at it a bit today water is all fine and it didnt overheat when it broke down it stunk of unburnt diesel

ive just checked the turbo its fine no play at all it only 1800 mile old

Fuel filter housing fractured with fuel spraying out ?
I had similar symptoms some years ago and it was a split housing which I believe was /is a common failing on earlier models .

yes i know them housings can be problematic its not long had one but it wasnt spraying diesel from their it was spraying diesel from the 2 injectors and when it broke down pure white smoke that stunk of unburnt diesel now it just cranks over but every now and then it trys to start but thats as far as goes also had it plugged in diagnostic solus and no codes at all now i thought something this bad would show some sort of code
