Any one had this one??????

Postby 9690harrison » Wed Sep 17, 2014 2:00 pm

Last week i was getting no hot air through vents.
On the second day i was on motorway and the temp shot into the red and went into limp mode.
Got recovered to a garage and they took water pump off that was ok they said water flowing ok.
They then took thermostat out and said that was faulty?
I yesterday had thermostat put in as the other garage left original out.
All was fine till this morning i had hot air for a couple of mins then went cold been doing this all day warm air then cold. The temp is ok sits at 90 but dont want it over heat again any ideas? Not using or loosing any water.

could it be the heater matrix..? not sure if the transits have this.

my old Mk5 fiesta had similar problems, would not get hot air through vents.

Check hot water valve under weendscreen in engine chumber. This valve is controlled by vacuum, vacum by electrovalve, electrovalve by knob in cabin.
Look for vacuum valve servo lever - is it moving when you turn knob.

Vacuum valve servo is on the picture - check his work.

Cheers. Would the matrix or water valve cause a over heat?
Ye blockage would i know, in garage monday for a investigation, ive ordered a water pump so they can put that on. Going ask them to do a rad test see if thats ok.
Just hope by end of day monday i get some goodish news.

I reckon your water pump, or the splines that drive it are failing,

Fingers crossed ake. Found trouble with garages now seem to take for ever to find the fault if they find it.
