As I'm in the middle of a huge amount of welding on my 10 year old swb transit my number 1 recommendation would be waxoil any and everything underneath. Use the hose to get it up into the sills through the drain holes. Drown the underside with the stuff. I really wish I had done it 5 years ago. :-(

Gently Clean and paint the brake pipes, take the n/s headlight out and there's loads going to the abs pump you can paint too. I used copper slip but I'm sure you could use acrylic or something?
Boss van 56 plate needed lots of pipes doing last year on his 100k van at that time, mine is a few months older 07 152k(previously overloaded and abused by pigboy) and needs nothing doing to them :o
And as said underseal, did mine last year with shutz(not everyone's cup of tea) but it still looks new and clean from underneath 8)

If martyn deletes it then blanking is optional, some ppl say the blank with hole in stops the eml coming on etc but if it is turned off in the map then blanking is irrelevant but to make sure there's no leaks so a matter of preference :-)

You have a few choices, but you need to get all the dirt off. Scrubby brush and jet wash, then let it all dry out fully (need a week with no rain). Thin the waxoyl down with white spirits, get the extension tube for the applicator to get in the box sections.

Anything flakey underneath I would scrape back best you can and put some rust treatment on first before waxing.
