2004 Mk6 2.0 Transit

Postby Malcforrest » Mon Oct 20, 2014 9:17 am

Hi guys,

I haven't posted to this forum before so I'd firstly like to introduce myself. My name is Malcolm, I've just bought a non running 280 SWB MIDLINE transit to move house in feb.

What I've gathered from the current owner is the fuel pump failed, so he and a mechanic friend replaced it and still can't get it to start. Now before I start working on it I wondered if anyone could suggest techniques or other avenues to try to test the pump before I remove it? Or other places to investigate.

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Oh the Reg is SJ04 VMG if anyone can check the vehicle on Etis

Get code read first and post numbers up for more help..did they program pump in.as it needs pairing up to ecu.also check wiring to pump by starter motor as the 2.0 has a problem where wiring can shafe.you may need to strip outer casing to check.you can check van on etis yourself

In replaced pomp case it is required record new pomp controller code - without it immobiliser blocks engine start (tddi engines with VP30 and VP44 Bosch pomps).
For new code record is needed fords IDS tester.
You didn't write nothing about immobiliser indicator - is it ok?

The previous owner states he bought a used uncoded VP30 Pump and coded it once it was fitted.

I'm maybe best to wait until I get it home first?

The other thing is how do I check etis?

Thanks for that. What would you guys recommend to try and code this fuel pump if that's what is wrong with it?
