Is that because spray angles of injectors are diferent on the higher powered ones

correct they do use different sray patterns hence bigger bowls for bigger injectors

I had read somewhere that the lower powered units didn't have the cooling oil spray on the piston underside, unlike the higher power. But again it's just hearsay.
