What year vehicle and what engine,

If its a Tdci engine, the more than likely it will be the SCV valve and Prv valve that require changing, and change the fuel filter (oem filter) then a Pcm update / pump and pilot learn.

It seems like the engine surges from what I have read on the forum If I put my foot on the gas it stops it and idles like it should take my foot off the gas it surges or I think it does does stall sometimes but starts back up then drive great then back to the surging hunting next time I'm sitting in traffic or at a junction I have changed fuel filter since I bought still the same

Try whipping out your MAP Sensor and giving that a good squirt with some Carb Cleaner
