Balljoints

Postby timewarptel » Tue Oct 28, 2014 8:27 pm

Hi, everyone, need some advice please. I have a mk 6 transit, and just failed mot due to lower ball joint, on 1 side.only changed both sides 2 years ago! Can they really go bad so soon, admittedly they were only a tenner each. Although I done it once before, still need a few jogs please. Does anyone know correct size balljoint fork, I have 5 of them, but either too big or small. Also, after taking circling off balljoint, and loosening the nut, there's nothing else I need to loosen or remove is there? I'm doing this job in situ at the van. Thanks, terry

Speedbumps kill ball joints. Do you have many where you live?

What transit is it? 2.0 FWD? 2.4 RWD?

Chap I knew swore that parking without having the front wheels straight killed ball joints. If you think about it it does make sense, a bit....
