Transit mk7 euro 5 110 fuel economy

Postby TrannyRab » Fri Nov 21, 2014 12:47 am

My 2012 110 2.2 mk7 euro 5 seems to be very thirsty on fuel, getting around 480 miles to a tank of diesel, we also have a 2010 115 mk7 euro 4 2.2 and it seems to manage 700+ miles to a tank, both vans are driven relatively the same, both carry around the same weight and we were lead to beleive both had the same torque curve. Also do both of them have a DPF fitted or just the euro5 as this may explain the problem?? Would be very thankful for any answers as its getting to the stage im thinking about getting the 2012 remapped and DPF deleted to help the fuel consumption.

Only euro 5 has dpf, and it's either 100 or 125, but not 110 they were dropped in 2008

I would advise against DPF delete on euro 5. Due to new MOT rules (emissions) coming into effect from 2017 :(

Currently it's a visual check for DPF for MOT & from 2017 they will be checking to make sure it's operational
Along with a new lower emissions limit of 0.5 instead of the current 1.5

- Effectively closing the loophole where people have had DPF gutted leaving the casing in place..

My 125 ps euro 5 averages 525 per tank, it's pretty much loaded all the time, and I don't hang about!
