Shultz or Waxyoil under Plylining?

Postby coacher » Sun Nov 23, 2014 11:11 am

I'm going to be replacing the ply on the floor of my van and after i've cleaned it out what are your recommendations for treating the floor before I re-cover it with ply?

The floor is in quite good condition with no nasty rust patches. Would it be better to spray it with shultz stonechip to give it a physical protection or waxyoil to allow it to soak into the nooks and crannies?

Is it worth putting something down to stop the ply rubbing the waxoyl? A felt type underlay maybe?

I sprayed underseal/Schultz on my floor then added waxoyl around the perimeter and on the bottom of the side panels so it protected the lower section and inner sills before ply lining the sides.
I then applied silicone sealant along the floor ribs before fitting the ply flooring.
Belt and braces all the way
