GOOD NEWS I did what you said (except i didn't remove the wires from the connector instead i stripped a small amount of insulation off and put the 12v supply on them, having removed the connector first) and there was no power going to the pump. I was able to find the break in the wire easily. Right where the wires leave the engine bay the proactive sheath was nearly cut right through and so were the wires which were also heavily corroded. I have now removed the washer bottle and I'm planning to reconnect the wires with bullet connectors then I'll have it all working again. Couldn't have done it without you. Can't thank you enough.

Well done, thanks for posting your findings

Hey guys, first post, first transit (well owned) and i fixed my washer by looking at this thread. So a big thank you from me. where the wire had gone through the hole to the pump it had chaffed its way through on the chassis. Also the water bottle had got a little leak that i fixed with resin (gorilla).

Another thanks. I fixed my washer using the information from this post. The voltage was reading 6v at the washer terminals with no pump fitted. The fault was a corroded wire chaffing against the body work between engine bay and wheel arch.
