mk 6 2006 tranny van banging on accelerating. . help

Postby supergas » Fri Dec 19, 2014 9:58 pm

Hi guys

My new van has a knock on acelerating (when engine pulls) and then another on deceleration(when engine relaxes) my first thoughts is engine mounting or maybe exhaust but im not sure is there anything else it could be or more likely to be?

Thanks in advance

Fwd or rwd? Iv seen a few fwd 's brake the rear engine mounting
just follow the onscreen instructions and it's fairly idiot proof...trouble is, we keep producing better idiots

thanks for the reply's guys

fwd

we removed the mounts 1 by 1 and inspected and think the rear is a little too weak None were completely failed though.
so going to change that rear mount and see how we go
will update once I have swapped it and tested it.

Hi guys
I replaced the rear mount as old one was weak and looked like it was breaking down and the knocking still remains
After futher Investigation my brother narrowed it down to driverside drivesheat #1 or driverside wheel bearing #2 also found disk terribly thin so have those on order
How common are driveshafts to go on transits and could the driveshaft make these noises or am i potentially looking at somthing more serious??

You dont need to tell me . . . . I have bought a heap lol

Thanks in advance
