Probably because it isn't matching the data on the speedo backup.

Add long as you did the modification correctly :-)

I think you need one of the brand new VCM III to run under Win 10, afaik there is V105.01 included and no VMware needed.

If i bought this, could i run it in compatibility mode (windows xp sp3) on windows 10 and would it connect to a MK7 56 plate transit?

I'm running w10 with vcm11 and v86.04 for my 08 plates
Works fine in comparability mode xp sp3

The only unknown is whether the vcm here will be capable of running on the older version? I don't see why not?
Though the general consensus was to go for the sp177-c1, the highest spec appears to be more reliable/versatile But it's always a gamble with any clone

I'm a bit new to IDS but I'd like to use it to restore my ECU to it's original spec. I've read you can copy ECU's to make a backup but my problem is a previous owner has changed it for one from a similar transit.

Can IDS download the data for the original ECU from Ford and then write it to a spare ECU? If not is it possible to change the stored diff ratio in IDS? Speedo reading wrong is my main gripe at the moment

This is for a 2006 2.0 125 TDCI MK6

2007 MK7 2.2 110 TDCI SWB

Hi all,

Ive just got a few questions on the following IDS before i take the plunge and buy a VCM2, firstly i wanted to say cheers to Punto for giving me a hand with his IDS on a mates MK7 whislt working in Edinburgh a while ago, which is one of the reasons i want a VCM2 of my own.

I have trawled this thread and just want to confirm a few things

1. is this the correct link to buy the VCM2 from?

http://www.cardiagtool.co.uk/ford-vcm-i ... -tool.html

2. i have a transit connect 08 (ex EON van). the van is restricted to 70mph and i would like to de-restrict the limiter. ive also got only one key, i would like to get another cut and program myself via IDS. are these things possible with IDS?

3. finally my wife has a Smax 58, it has developed a intermittent problem and shows a engine malfunction and esp light at the same time and i have been recommended to get the PCM updated as this might iron out a bug of some sort, rather than taking it to ford and paying for the update, i could buy the VCM for the same price, just need to know if this would be possible or not?

cheers fellas
