What source? I'd be interested in reading up on that kind of info as hopefully going to upgrade and would be looking at getting newer IDS.

My vcm2 goes online fine, funny thing tho, i did a pcm update and it downloaded and installed 2 files, cc11 and bk21.

I wonder if cc11 is the original mk7 euro 5 and bk21 is the custom extra? Why not do 1 new 1? Although there are multiple levels of memory, but on the euro 4 I'm sure it was just 1 file?

Automatily logs on to the ford IDs server

It's a new "pass thru" device

IDS is out of date. Current version is V104.04 which covers 2017 Transit Auto & Transit AWD

There's no official VCM3. Although a new revised VCMII is available....

Yes if you don't have a licenced IDS or valid subscription

These VCM IDS 3's could work well as a pass thru device.
Ford does support pass thru devices & provides software for them - Again it's subscription based.

Only reservation I have is IDS software it's supplied with. Obvioulys it's been rewritten to provide automatic login to Ford's Servers.
When required to gain access to vehicle security on lastest vehicles.

Bearing that in mind. If try to use IDS from Ford. That automatic login would be lost.

Big Question is...
How long will it last before Ford "Blocks" the login details/program these VCM IDS 3's use to gain FREE access to their servers

well that is true its the gamble you take realy

it just like the psa software they block it then another appears

also the vcm 2 will not work with the software 102.2 (i have the old one )

Makes me laugh you all bought the ids 2 and when they come out the were around £350

Loot was the first to the IDs vcm 2 4 years ago,i bought soon after and that has worked since day one never failed ,now we found something else you all doubt it well

It's like anything tho, for now it works so use it, make your money back and hope it lasts, same principle as the clone vcm1 and 2.(one of my vcm2 lasted about 3 uses and broke luckily they sent 2 by accident so I'm still using the second 1 thankfully it had lasted)

I notice Launch X431 V 8" tablet have Ford module programming option.
Module Programming works:
ACM (Audio Control Module)
CDP (Compact Disc Player)


Anyone else notice? and did deep test?
