Guys after some advice,

Bought a clone IDS vcmII and have it running on V103.

Software looks good.
Check ID of vehicle all good.
Reads DTCs.
Clears DTCs.

Problem is trying to anything else like pump learn, programme injectors (service items) it starts then freezes on me.

Am I running it on too new of a version.
I'm working on my 56 plate mk7 2.2 FWD 110ps.

I'm trying to get the original calibration for my ECU but IDS won't accept my PCM Part Number of 4C11-12K532-AG. Keeps telling me it's incorrect.

Is there anyway to get it to recognise it? Does the IDS version matter (using v86)?

Does it not usually ask for the "file part number"??... not the part number of the PCM...

It's on manual entry so it asks for the PCM part number or Tear Tag no. I have tried both but they both come up as incorrect. I've tried some other PCM part no's and it seems about 50/50 whether it loads or says incorrect number entered

It may be you're pcm has been updated to a newer calibration than AG.

Assuming ids stores info on your mk6 tdci in the same way as it does for my mk7....

Set ids to log everything in a session then read the log file to see which calibration it has found in the pcm.
It will be near the top of the file, you should find (VIN): ######nnnnnnn, then Stratergy: 4C11-, then Filename: 4C11-12K532-AG
A few lines later you'll find (PCM) Part Number = 4C11AG, and (PCM)_FILENAME = 4C11-12K532-AG
If they don't all match then ids is not talking to your van properly.

mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

Anyone had hassle getting into injector cut out test section of IDS?
Went through tests last night and each time it opens the section then immediately exits saying something about "failed to gain security access" or something(can't exactly remember now).
Then have to go back to the start of the section to start the process again!

I had "failed to gain security access" or similar when my laptop was running WIN 7.
Everything was fine then one day security message.
Partitioned my laptop HD and run IDS on XP and works fine :D

Thanks Dave. My problem is the ECU isn't the original one so IDS is reading it right but I want to reflash it to the original calibration.

If you have a copy of the original calibration then you can pretend that your replacing the ecu and go through the new module installation process.
That should also re-write the secondary information stored in the other modules.
The biggest problem might be getting a copy of your calibration if you don't have it.

Yes that seems to be the main issue now. Are there other ways of getting the calibration filename other than through IDS?
