I have question
where do I find the thing to switch the auto locking
as I would like it on the little van too

Go to module programming
Car configuration
Configurable parameters
Download vehicle configuration file

Modify vehicle configuration file
Scroll down the list to find auto locking with speed
Change setting as required
Upload configuration file
Disconnect ids
Lock house
Go for short drive to ensure licking works as desired
Drive back to house
Unlock house
Take the rest of the day off :)

Register, log in and input codes produced by IDS, this will then generate a code to put into IDS for secure access for key programming options

Does that only work for MK7 onwards? I tried on my MK6 and couldn't get it to work. So just used the timed access option. Which was fine on the 2001 ECU I put in, but I don't remember the previous ecu (2003) having a timed access option when I was having a play about with it before I swapped it.

Sorry I'm pretty new to IDS, only recently got it for my engine swap, spend hours trying to code the new ecu/pump/key haha  VCM kept disconnecting whilst I was waiting for it to grant me access  got there eventually

So is the past post that explains adding a second hand remote?

I get different in codes for the remotes but don't get a blue tick at the bottom of ids?

Do I need to erase them all and start again?

You can erase all and start again or just add another. Even if it's a s/h one it just overwrites the keys old code and pairs it to your van.

Mk7 you only need 1 key to program, you can have a maximum of 5 keys, if you have problems writing new keys if less than 5 then don't delete them or you'll have none  ids says you need 2 but you can simply reuse the 1 you have in the ignition to program it. I suggest that if you only have 1 key and have 3 programmed then you are ok but if you have 4 and ids asks for 2 then be careful!

Some black standard keys with blue Chip don't work so be aware of that.

Best plan is to have 2 blue fob remotes and program them.
Program keys in for the first time you use ids so you know it works then optionally you can remove all keys if more are coded than the 1 or 2 you have in your possession then reprogram yours and you are good.

Happy days :o

If not then you need.

Xp or 7 disk or image with activators or product key.
Set to boot laptop from cd in bios.
Install xp/7 but format drive c as part of the installation.
Update drivers if needed and install winzip if needed.

Install v86
Run 86 licence/patch (same thing)

Job done bingo bongo.

Xprog
Calibrations.[/b]

Will this work with an ELM 327 USB cable interface or does it need to be a specific interface to talk to the vehicle?

Ids can only be used with a specific reader ie a vcm1 vcm2 or vcx.

Elm327 won't work, it will work with android torque or other basic program and will only read engine specific faults.

I can now get an in code but don't get the blue tick to go forward on ids. I am using the correct clone vcm and everything goes to plan until I get stuck. I have attempted to press enter but no there should be a tick to go forward. The software is v86 off here and not the software that came with hardware.

Daft question but can you see where the tick should be? Sometimes there can be screen resolution problem and the tick is out of view.

Just been back out to take a look. I realised that the tick disappeared when I put the full code in. If I just put three in it stayed and bobs your uncle, worked straight away. Very happy bunny, as it's a mk7 based camper so we can each have a remote key when we are on holiday. Thanks for the help, would have been still been struggling.
