how to reset engine check light

hi guys my old erg set off my engine light but i have a new erg now including prv and scv too,
ford did all the necessary computer and pump learn procedures but they failed to turn off the light, is there a way i can do it???? disconnect battery?? if i do that will the ecu forget the latest updates or keep them as i now finally have the van running sweetly (except for a whooshing sound on acceleration)

Part of doing the updates should include clearing fault codes and basic maintenance, replacing the egr alone will eventually clear the eml if that was the only fault code.
But I'm a bit shocked that they didn't clear it anyway, when I'm doing my learns etc, usually codes are generated iirc from the scv or randoms.
I'd take it back and ask if they did it all correctly.
They will clear the codes free i imagine.
Any cheap reader will clear engine codes if you have 1.

well i deffo know they did all the edu updates and pump learn as the van now does the anti stall rev up when i let out the clutch and they took off the 70mph restriction too, so it has beed plugged in, but yes i thought it was strange that they didn't clear it, especially since they told me it was for the egr, i got the feeling that since i fitted my own erg, src and prv that they just wanted rid of me and the van, the customer service was non existent really...

If the light is on, you still have faults. It self resets when faults are repaired.
