serious fuel bleeding issues

Postby ChowderV4 » Wed Feb 25, 2015 6:14 pm

i had to get a new diesel pump, got one second hand and got it virginised, all fitted but cant get the van to start at all.

its a mk6 2.4

ive tried pumping the primer ontop of the filter so much but it never get hard or seems to force the air anywhere, and when i take the fuel feed pipe off the filter housing it sometimes takes 10-20 pumps to get fuel coming out of it?

ive managed to get fuel coming out of injector pipe 1 and 3 but nothing from 2 and 4, any ideaS?

i need the van done tonight and im loosing the f*** will to live with it.

yep timing is bang on had it all marked up and all the lock off points lines up for the cam wheels.
Ive now got fuel coming out of injector 1+2 but nothing from 3+4 is it literally a case of keeping pumping the primer and the air will eventualy all come out, i could possibly tow

me personally i would be dragging it down the road for a few hundered yard with injectors cracked of so it pissing out ever where the nip them up then tow again and away she goes take it for a good run after to make sure all air as gone :D

make sure you tow from standing start in 3rd gear

i dont use the way you saying above or use the primer on top of them i either blow the fuel threw using an air line or tow them :)

ok so we are cranking it with a jump lead connected , all injectors are getting fuel, why is it not starting?

All locking pins lined up on the cams when fitting the new pump, both cams and pump sprocket lined up so is the pump timing right?

i dont understand why it is not starting unless ive been sold a broken pump as it has fuel it should start.
