Have just had the gearbox reconned and the transmission cables replaced for £771 inc vat. Good deal? :?:

my mk4 rusted like a b*stard, rear chassis was swiss cheese. What do u mean about price? I just want 2 know if the deal was good :?

sounds about right to me - new clutch as well?

no, the clutch was good (inspected it myself) and the tranny garage completed in two days. The holding bolt had sheared and syncro on third had gone from before I bought the van. Second and fourth were sods to engage, and reverse kept jumping out. hopefully the new cable will sort the down stuff and it is great not to have to double when changing down to third. My contractors lent me a con**ct in the meantime ...... so good to be back in my tranny :D

Gotta admit, it`s just good to get her back on the road. MOT due soon, but apart from a new screen and track rod end should be ok. The Conn**ct was a pile of crap tho, how can it share a badge :shock:
