Speedo not working

Hi all removed the tacho fitted to my van and the speedo doesn't work. Anyone got any ideas other than reconnecting the tacho don't really want to do this as tacho is mounted in tray on top of dash.

What van ? if mk7 and factory fit tacho it needs ids to change it

Sorry Mk 6 03 reg ex- Morrison's van so non factory fitted tacho.

Have a look around the gearbox for a lose plug as the speed sensor may be unplugged

Under the passenger fuse box somewhere in the bundles of looms is a grey connector with a shorting plug plugged into it, you either need to change the plug for the non tacho shorting plug, or reconfigure the existing one to make it a non tacho type. At the moment the the speedo signal from the vans own speed sensor is not going to the dash as it was getting it via the tacho unit and the tacho speed sensor.
