Locking/radio problem- Battery??

Postby RockinRick » Thu Apr 23, 2015 11:23 am

Hi all
I have a Mk 7- 210,00 miles & still flying. However- it has developed a locking problem, which I suspect may be a battery.

Both key fobs seemed not to hold their charge, inasmuch as within 2 days of not using the van, I can't unlock it without putting the key in the ignition & running the engine for 5 mins. It's always started fine. Then I noticed that I had to re-enter the radio code every 2 days as well!
Dealer wanted to sell me 2 keys, but it seems odd both woulld go at the same time. I believe I read somewhere here that similar symptoms could occur if one of the batteries was shot.

Is this true, and if so, which battery would it be- front or rear?

Thanks in advance for your help- I know someone on here will know the answer

Had them checked- front one read weak- after 24 hrs charging. Put a new one in- seems to have cured it- both keys work fine, now.

Thanks

I've found everything in my van seems to work better with new batteries fitted.
