engine rattle yreg mk6 2ltr help!!

Postby PaultheChippie » Tue May 15, 2007 12:17 am

Hi there can anybody help me? i bought my MK6 2Ltr Yreg 100bhp fwd transit 3years ago with about 99,000 miles on the clock its now got 118,000miles under the belt. I've started to get a bit of rattle noise coming from the offside part of the engine near the engine mount it fades a bit when you raise the revs, could any body tell me what it could be. Another proplem i seem to be having is getting any kind of workshop manual heynes don't do one yet and ford have been less than helpfull.

Buy yourself a TIS off eBay.

a rattle from that area could easily be the crankshaft pulley rattling - it's a damped pulley, two halves bonded together with rubber - take the belt off and try it - if the noise goes bung a pulley on it

not something you would want to get involved with unless you've done this sort of thing before - tis disc will have instructions if not I'll tell you how
