Thanks everybody for your opinions, I believe that the clutch for the single mass is enough cm larger in diameter than the one for the dual mass
which also seems to make it last longer... but since you already have try it have you noticed extra noise or extra vibrations?

Ive driven Andy's van and cant say I noticed any real difference between his and mine (which still has the dual mass fitted) and Karl has reported that his van runs and drives perfect since fitting the solid mass flywheel/clutch recently (he also changed the spigot bearing) At the risk of repeating myself...it is IMPORTANT that you change the spigot bearing when replacing the clutch/flywheel (even if you stick with the dual mass) as the bearing will have taken a lot of stick from the worn/out of balance dual mass flywheel

Hi thanks again everybody for all this info,

So after whatever I decide(duall or single mass) it is important to change the spigot ball bearing

Is it possible to tell me which part code is the valeo kit for the duratorq 2.4 di single mass(flywheel) and clutch convertion kit.... and what company or code should i ask for the Spigot bearing,
so I can order them from somewhere?

Although its a good idea to change the spiggot bearing I have put single mass clutches in 2 of my mk6s without replacing it no problems

Its not my turn in the barrel

For the record, no problems with the clutch since. Very happy now the van is no longer fussy about which gear it's in.

smf all the way, ive done 5 over the years in mk6s bit more lumpy but a solid flywheel doesnt wear out and in 50k when the clutch has worn out its only 80 euros for a branded clutch.
im fairly sure the sierra, granada it was stuffed into didnt have a dmf in them anyway
