Mk6 2003 2.4 lwb Propshaft

Postby Mifft1 » Thu Jul 30, 2015 3:56 pm

Hi all have recently brought a transit recovery truck its registered as a transit 350 lwb td flat lorry it has a 5 speed gearbox and its twin wheel unfortunately whilst it was at a friends yard for me to fix the engine someone stole my complete propshaft my problem is that it is a 3 bolt 3 piece prop but i have measured from the diff to the centre of the bolt hole for the bearing then from centre to centre for the middle and then to the gearbox and it measures 312cm 123" give or take a tiny bit and all the propshafts i find are 115" long am desperate to find a prop as its the only thing stopping me from enjoying driving it as i brought it with and engine issue so have not been able to drive it yet hopefully somebody can help me with finding a propshaft
Thanks in advance
Matthew

The rear piece is on a sliding spline have you considered that?

Lol don't take my word for it, i know the rear section slides but you are best being positive before buying 1.

Thanks for the link need to have a look around this is the first transit ive had so have no experience with what the prop should fit if the measurements are up to the bearing or from end to end as that would make alot more sense
