I'll give it a try :D I've not even really had time to set the amp up yet, unfortunately it was quote late before I finished. I didn't want to upset the neighbours to much, so I'll have a better play in the morning. :?

I'm a bit inexperienced with the whole sub and amp etc, so it's a bit of a learning curve too, but I've enjoyed it, and I'm fairly happy with the results so far :D

What amp? It might have line sensing for the switch on/off?

It's a 4ch vibe amp. It has high level inputs that could be used for auto switching, but I'd rather use the low level inputs.

I'm going to hook up the ids tomorrow and see if it's something that possibly needs configured to operate correctly, like the fader control?

Failing that I could just hook it up to the ign? I've fitted a little inline isolater to it and could just use that to control it also.

But if i rather have it auto switching.

Finally the carpet arrived :D finished it off nicely, even experimented with the left over carpet on the Apillars and moved the tweeters up.

It's sounding really good, just got a little interference to trace, very slight, only when I first pull away, get a thump, thump, thump for about 3-5seconds? Only once after first starting?

Volume (air pressure) damages eardrums. I know because after messing with big speakers and big amps over many years I am now mainly deaf. OK, I now have an amp and speaker in my ears and I can hear most of what is said. Just remember that ear damage is permanent and non reversible. Just keep the volume down a bit.

That looks very good indeed.
For the rest of us who are a bit (lot!) lazier, i've bought one of those enclosures from ebay and put a 8in Rockford Fosgate in it and it sounds pretty good. Haven't quite been brave enough to punch through a hole to fix back to the bodywork, but velcro works well enough to cope with London stop start Grand Prix's
