transit 2.4 rwd cut out and wont start help please

Postby dazxxx » Sat Nov 14, 2015 5:04 pm

so I have a 2007 rwd tipper and couple weeks ago it had a fault of cutting out at juncitons but always started afterwards... I did few checks ie fuse box, wiring, leak off and other things, I replaced the valve on rear of pump and it was perfect for couple weeks. yesterday pulling away it cut out and now wont start as though its out of fuel, ive replaced rail sensor and had pump with pressure constantly pumping fuel into filter but still wont start .. any ideas please as running out of options other than the pump which I havnt lookd at as people say they don't go :( :(

Welcome to the forum :D

Did you perform fuel pump learns etc :?:

As that is required to be done when replacing SCV on pump & PRV on furl rail :!:

alrite paul thanks but as mentioned the van ran perfect for couple weeks multiple stops and starts and never had problem.... but no didn't do no relearn as most functions require engine to run to do them... ive now swapped fuel rail and checked numerous things but with no fault codes its like hitting a wall everytime....I,m wondering if chain has jumped or pump is knackered.. I did check with the testers to see if injector pulsing on turnover and they wer'nt but one of lads said it wouldn't due to fuel pressure or something. think scrapping it is on the cards :x :x

When replacing SCV & PRV pumps learns should have been done

As for DTC's (error codes) If there's a problem DTC's should be stored. Any ODBII compliant device will retrieve them.
