DPF - Static Regen

Postby Darude » Thu Aug 11, 2016 10:57 am

Hi all,

I have a 2014 Transit 350, 2.2. 125ps. 15k mileage.

I can see the following DTCs, which only appeared in recent weeks:-
P0097
P246C
P24A4
P2463

The last 3 being related to DPF. The DPF soot load is 230% and is currently in limp mode.

I was about to perform a static regeneration using forscan, thinking it would be about 10 minutes, but cancelled when it said it would take 50 minutes.

Do you think it would be safe to proceed with a 50 minutes static regeneration?
Does anyone have any experience in this, and know how high the rpm rev up to?

Thanks in advance, I intend to keep this thread fully updated.

It may take less time than that, however if this is a UK van, then it's still under warranty, so get it to a Ford dealer and let them fix it.

Thanks ake, it is a UK van and still under warranty.

I have actually tried a local Ford dealer a few times, warning lights clear, but only appear back on a day afterwards.

If DPF is an easy one to perform, I intend to do that and then revisit the dealer if codes are not gone. Do you know how high rpms go up to during static regen in Transits?

I would imagine that there is a fault with either the wiring loom or the vaporiser, hence why it hasn't regenerated itself. I'll bet you £10 if you try a static regen it will fail

Static regen can take 50 minutes, it sits at 2k revs whilst it does it

So, get it to the dealer!
If you try and deck something up, they will void the warranty, and you'll be left to pay the bill, and ids can see historic attempts to perform static regen.

Noted, thanks ake. Good point about the logged historic attempts to perform static regens.
Think I'll find try a different dealer this time.

Just to update, ake, you were right, the vaporiser had to be replaced to fix the DPF errors, this along with a regeneration (20 minute drive) fixed the soot load.
And an air flow sensor (I think MAF, but don't quote me) had to be replaced to fix P0097 Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input.
