light fault

Postby tonymccullochuk » Fri Aug 26, 2016 10:44 pm

Hi all
I got pulled for having no brake lights on the nearside and the rear door of my 2.2 tdci. I replaced the bulbs
and then developed an issue with the indicator bulb which was fixed after a clean out of the bulb holder. The tail light and number plate light(rear, nearside)then packed up!
I changed both bulbs but they were not faulty. I replaced the bulb holder and I still have issues, The nearside side front light is out and the rear brake light works but the tail doesn't!
Any help would be appreciated as I have to send a horti in within 2 weeks.
Cheers

Thanks for the advice guys!
I have checked all the fuses that I know about and the bulbs all work on the opposite side.

You will have separate fuses for right and left  Have you checked the 2 fuseboxes behind the glove box :?:

Hi Bambi mk 1
I checked the main fuses behind the glove box! I saw in the owners handbook that there is another behind the main one but I couldn't get access to it, I thought it may be another model that has it!
Cheers

I sounded a bit thick when I asked the cop if it was a "producer" he was giving me!
I think that's what they are called north of the border. Don't know what it stands for but its a form you need to get an MOT garage to stamp, you get 21 days to fix and notify them.

Cheers Knobby1
The sidelight bulb was charred and blown and the bulb holder was a little corroded so I changed it.
If it happens again I will no there's an issue.
