Van won't start when hot

Postby brennewsome2780 » Fri Sep 23, 2016 10:59 am

Hi hi have a mk 7 Lwb transit lately when I stop it when it gets hot it won't start again, I leave it for 5 minutes or so and it will fire up again nothing showing up on diagnostics. Starter does however make a strange whine when this happens. Any suggestions to what this is or could be would be great. Thanks in advance

Sounds like the starter solenoid is on its way out. N

I'd also suspect the crank sensor
