battery faulty or something else?

Postby shedrool83 » Sun Sep 25, 2016 3:18 pm

My mk7 2.2 fwd single battery has been playing up over the last few weeks.
To begin with it would start in the morning monday-friday but if left from fri-monday it would start.
Today it started this morning (used it yesterday ) had a 5mile journey sat for 3 hours and wont start.
Battery is reading 12.6v and drops to 9v when i switch on the ignition.
Starts with a jump after leads being hooked up for a couple of minutes.

I fitted a new battery less than a year ago .

My van had been playing up in the same way recently. I was told to clean up the earth from the battery next to drivers seat. Done that last weekend and I've not had any probs since. Might be worth a try.
