EGR Blanking.

Postby rsjon » Mon Sep 26, 2016 3:15 pm

I have blanked off the EGR and cleaned out the inlet manifold on my 2005 2.0 FWD TDDi 85PS.
Engine runs superbly. like a Swiss watch, if a little noisier than a watch!
I have two questions though:
1. As the EGR cools the combustion process to reduce nitrogen oxide production, will the inevitably hotter exhaust gases damage the turbo in any way?
2. What is the likely gain in power output by removing the cat?
Thanks,
Jon.

Won't damage the turbo just the environment

Decatting it won't increase power, you'd also need to increase the fueling/map etc.
