Quick silly question!!

Postby Agger79 » Sat Oct 22, 2016 9:15 pm

Hey everyone, I'm in the middle of fitting 2 rear led worklamps on the roof of the workvan. Have switch fitted in dash and wires ran to the back. Now for my question!! Will pop rivets hold the lamps securely enough onto the roof or would I want to use bolts and nuts. 4small holes needed for brackets, either m6 bolts or rivets. Please to advise. Thank you.

I was hoping that wouldn't be the case!! It's very awkward to get my stupid hands into where the nut threads on!!

The problem is if you use pop rivets and light gets knocked off it will pull through creating larger holes

 So will the bolts, (pull through that is), best not to knock off the light :!: :P

I would use pop rivets with penny washers and sealant

Roof rack bar would defo work but I'd just get a rear chrome bar with led markers and brackets for lamps if going down that route!!
