Now I have searched this honestly guvnor, but do I need any special allcock tools to change this stupid part.
Looking at the new one I assume it presses in from the bottom of the hub and is secured with the circlip provided, I was hoping this part wouldn't fail on the mot but it bloody did.
Am I best removing the wheel hub and going to the garage to see if I can use there press.
Many thanks N
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Having never done this job on a transit I may be wrong but having replaced many ball joints on many other vehicles I'd say a press would be a good idea.
In order to get it on a press, you would have to remove the whole hub carrier and calipers etc.
I've always found smacking it out with a hammer and chisel, then bolting it all up and jacking the bottom of the wish bone up to insert it has worked for me.
