So the questions have started ha

Postby Sjjohno » Thu Dec 08, 2016 3:37 pm

Hello everyone, just got a ex British gas van lovely color ha
I was wondering my van doesn't have blue tooth on the radio I have, would it just be a case of replaying the radio for something like this?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272471787017
Then it would work?

Thanks

No, bt is an additional module, separate from the radio.

You would require the module, wiring and mic, then the van would need programmed to allow it all to work.

Probably easier to just buy a parrot or similar, depending on your skill and motivation :D .

Sounds about right to just add parrot,
Fitted one it my old van so it's not problem,
Thanks for your help,

While I'm here yeno your inverter in your van, did you just take it from the 2nd battery?
I would like to add 2nd battery
Then switches for lights like yours

Been reading some of the mk7 project some good ideas just need more money now ha
If I was to replace the standard head unit for a focus one with dab on it, would I just be a case of fitting another Ariel cable? Or would it just be a straight swap, tried having a little look but can't see anything, feel free to just post a link to the post if any of these have been asked before,

And if I do replace the head unit. Would need to add a parrot or something for Bluetooth, would I lose my parking sensors?
thanks in advance

The Sony dab will work fine, your parking sensors will not be effected, they are in a seperate system.

And yes, you will need seperate digital aereal. I bought the focus dab aereal for my van.

welcome. Is it the newer british gas van or the older one you have bought?

Top tip, dont bash/ scratch / crash your van as the british gas van colour is very hard to find.

Fitting a parrot kit is easy enough. I have one in my ex BG van too.

Ahhh didn't think of the colour match,
It's a 2010 mwb 330m nice clean van like,

So a parrot it is, I was going to add a dab like I said up there ^^^^^
But I can't find the fascia plate for the transit, anybody got a link for one?

Also I can't be on here expecting you lot to answer all my questions,
So are the answers to my questions regarding eg adding heated screen adding cruise control and heated screens etc?
Do I just use the tool bar up there ?

Thanks

Battery isolator on, takes some use ha keeps killing battery of lights / doors open to long might need to dispose of that,
Screen takes ages to Demist, think the floors wet, will look into everything in more detail over the Holiday

Emptied all the back insulated boarded and carpet the rear, new shelves and light to be added at some point, will start a little thread when get more photos,

Just a quick question been looking for level 2 high spec clocks and matching stalk,

I under stand some times it a plug and play sometimes not, but will I need a complete new squil thing or just a high replacement stalk?

Also do any of youse no if a face lift mk2 focus 1.6 clocks will work?

All the squibs are the same, just buy the stalk with trip button, sometimes you get the whole lot for cheap so just weigh up what's best. :-)

No other clocks to my knowledge will fit so just buy the transit ones to be safe.
