Mk6 interior lights

Postby Gavlaar » Mon Jan 16, 2017 10:46 pm

Hi all, got a mk6 90 t350 and recently bought a couple of led bulbs off ebay for use in the cab lights, but only the rear light works with an led bulb, not the front one with the switch. Have obviously swapped bulbs around to eliminate duff bulb possibilty, and front one still works with a standard bulb. Also, how difficult is it to add a couple of extra cargo lights in the back? Only got two but 4 would be better? Thanks

You can't use LED bulbs in the front cab lights, as they are the wrong polarity, What some of us have done, is solder in a small LED panel across the contacts

Load space lights can be fitted with LED festoon bulbs, and yes you can add more LED's to the circuit

Or I fitted these in the Mk7

look on flea bay, there you will find 12 volt cut to length led light strips that you stick on, comes in long reels and is very cheap, my mate has it in the load area of his vw van and its like day light in there at night

See:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=175459

For rear lights, I've fitted something like these:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/20pcs-1 ... 92834.html

They can be threaded between the roof and the roof support ribs, and then stuck to the roof itself. Just remove the existing festoon fittings and wire these strips in instead. The lighting in my van is now better than in my house :)
