van wont start when warm

Postby hunkey monkey » Tue Mar 21, 2017 4:14 pm

my van starts fine in the morning when its cold but when I get to my destination it wont start until its cold again, also sometimes the accelerator wont rev then it springs into action after a while.my mechanic had it for a week but sods law the bloody thing started all the time for him.no fault codes came up and a diesel specialist had it for a couple of days and couldn't find any fault.its had a new battery fitted and a new fly wheel sensor but still not solved the problem.its a 2004 model.if I cant get to the bottom of it I may have to buy a new van which I really cant afford.

Um....there's no such animal as a "2.5" 2004....must be a Mk6 2.4L RWD.

What PS is it..?

Is it TDDi or TDCi..?

Your right , I missed the 2004 bit. In that case I have nothing to add. I'll just get me coat.

OK...so it's a 2004 TDDi 90ps 2.4L RWD....Finally we know exactly what it is...

Do you know what code reader was used?? Ideally it needs to go on IDS. When was the fuel filter last replaced?

I'd still be looking at the throttle pedal....failing that you may even have a fuel pump or timing solenoid issue.
