2010 140ps deep sump.

Postby Jim Archer » Wed Mar 22, 2017 9:18 am

Can't have anything nice me, within 1 hr of picking up new van I'd a massive hole in a tyre, bloody great ding in the screen, a hole punched in the sump, and the oil cooler 'stat housing cracked.

2010, 2.4, 140ps.

Ordered a sump from TPUK, only to find mine has a deep sump fitted, is this how it should be? Is there any difference in the pick-up pipe?

Anything else I ought to look at in there whilst the oil pan is off?

Where you doing donuts on hardcore or something?

If yours should have a deep sump then I'd get a deep sump for it unless it also has the gravity filter in the rocker cover?
I'll guess that it doesn't since it has the big sump?

I can't comment on the length of the dip but I'll say i think it'll be the same.

Originally Ford put a Spinny oil filter on top to help, they binned that idea and fitted the big sump on later models.

Blue will probably say they offered both options or something to poo poo me, ever since i beat him in the egg and spoon race he's had it in for me I tell you :P

Anyway, I'd swerve having small sump and no gravity filter on top if Ford intended the 140 to have either. :?

What was the question again?

The lovely people at TPUK have confirmed it should have the deep sump.

Going by what was rattling around in the tyre, and the dents, someone dropped a slack handful of M10 coachbolts on the southbound A34 twixt M40 and Oxford.

No top filter.

Does anyone have a link or Pn: for this larger sump?? And does it need longer oil pick-up etc...?? Can't say I've seen one in person.. :?
