Faulty front heated windscreen

Postby boemelieboemelie » Fri Mar 24, 2017 2:30 pm

Hello,

I recently bought a Ford Transit from 2002. Only the drivers side of the heated front windscreen works. It makes a straight line in the middle of the windscreen. Left works perfectly, right stays frosted.

Does anyone know where this problem could be? Fuses are all good.

Haha. Yeah I know its spring, but thats not a guarantee for good weather in the Netherlands...

I already thought about checking the power. I removed the cowl top grille and the plastic a-post thing, but no wires or anything. Where is te power connected? I assume theres 2 points where it gets power, while only half of my screen works

Pull the inner trim off each side of the windscreen and you will see two gold coloured tabs each side, that the screens power points. N

Mine did the same. but it magically started working again on both sides after ford replaced the fuel filter. dunno if it was just a coincidence, or if they hit same cables. cos the fuel fiter ist right below that part of the screen and there are some looms runing aroudn there...
